Conscience Bay Newsletter Mid-August 2020

About our worship and business sessions:

Meetings for worship are held every Sunday throughout the year.  For July and August they begin at 10 am.  On the first Sunday of September they change back to an 11 am start time.  Since mid-June we have adopted the format of “blended worship”, with people participating in-person at the Meeting House as well as online via Zoom.  You can access the Zoom invitation for worship easily through our website, http://www.consciencebayquakers.org.  In September, we resume our regular monthly business sessions, usually held on the second Sunday, which will also have a blended format until further notice.  A separate zoom invitation for business will be sent out via email as the time approaches.

Quotes and Poems

WHY SILENCE

We wrap ourselves

In silence

So we might

More clearly hear

The whisper

Of our inner spirit

Asking us of what we do.

We listen not for words

But for the hints

That guide ourselves

Toward that which is

The best we might become.

Paul Weaver, 2019

Our life is love, and peace, and tenderness; and bearing one with another, and forgiving one another, and not laying accusations one against another, but praying one for another, and helping one another up with a tender hand.

Isaac Penington, Letters, 1667
